
The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) promoted Tony Cotto to assistant vice president and counsel for federal and political affairs. He previously served as NAMIC’s director of auto and underwriting policy. Cotto will represent NAMIC before federal officials on issues affecting property/casualty insurance companies and advocate for its legislative, legal, and regulatory positions.
Cotto previously served as minority counsel to the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations under the late Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., and served in the administrations of George W. Bush and Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin after practicing insurance regulatory law at Frost, Brown, Todd. During a five-year stint as financial policy counsel for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, Cotto advocated for state insurance regulators in Washington, D.C.
