Ignite Specialty Risk Names Patel as US Head of Intellectual Property Underwriting

Ignite Specialty Risk, headquartered in London, appointed Ankit Patel as U.S. head of intellectual property (IP) underwriting.

With more than a decade of experience, Patel specializes in contingent legal risks and IP. Before joining Ignite, Patel led the contingent legal risk insurance team for the Americas at Liberty Mutual Corporation. Prior to working at Liberty, he served as senior intellectual property counsel at Ambridge Partners LLC.

QBE North America Appoints Finnis as SVP of Distribution

QBE North America, headquartered in New York City, appointed Lauren Finnis as senior vice president of distribution.

Based in Chicago, Finnis’s experience includes roles in distribution, underwriting, pricing and claims with insurance carriers and brokerage firms. Finnis joins QBE from Willis Towers Watson, where she served as head of commercial lines in their insurance consulting and technology practice. Prior to that, served as director, wholesale distribution at SynchronoSure and customer and broker engagement leader, central region, at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance.
