WTW appointed Dale Porfilio as senior director and head of personal and commercial lines business development in its insurance consulting & technology (ICT) business. Based in Chicago, Porfilio will be responsible for driving growth, market share and profitability in both personal and commercial insurance sectors.
Porfilio most recently served as chief insurance officer at the Insurance Information Institute (Triple-I) and president of the Insurance Research Council (IRC), leading the research and education activities. Porfilio previously served as senior vice president and corporate chief actuary for Genworth Financial.
Porfilio “played a vital role in advancing our mission, delivering trusted insights to members, policymakers, and the media,” said Triple-I CEO Sean Kevelighan in a message on LinkedIn. “From strengthening our research agenda to guiding our underwriting projections, his contributions have been instrumental in building value for our members and the industry at large.”
Aspen Appoints Welch Group Chief Underwriting Officer
Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited appointed John Welch as group chief underwriting officer effective August 1.
Welch has over 30 years of experience in executive roles across global players, including at AXA XL and XL Catlin Group, and originally joined Aspen as chief underwriting officer, reinsurance in June 2023. In his new role, he will be responsible for the oversight, development and execution of Aspen’s underwriting strategy across the group.
