Ross Buchmueller, founder and former CEO of PURE Insurance, will be joining the board of managing general underwriter Private Client Select Insurance Services as chairman.

Buchmueller announced Jan. 5 on LinkedIn that he agreed to serve as chair of the PCS, started about three years ago by American International Group (AIG), with private equity firm Stone Point Capital to serve the high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth market.
“I’m looking forward to helping this team realize their full potential,” Buchmueller said on LinkedIn, adding that Stone Point Capital was PURE’s first investment partner and that he’s been serving as a senior advisor for the firm.
“Ross is a recognized industry leader in the U.S. high-net-worth personal insurance market with a demonstrated track record of building, running and leading high-growth businesses,” AIG said in a statement. “Ross’s deep expertise in the high and ultra-high-net-worth market will be invaluable as PCS continues to deliver exceptional service and value for its clients. We look forward to PCS’s continued growth and innovation under Ross’s guidance.”
Buchmueller moved on from PURE at the end of 2023 after building the company about 20 years ago. Martin Leitch took over as CEO.
In 2019, Tokio Marine Holdings, through subsidiary HCC Insurance Holdings, announced the acquisition of PURE for $3.1 billion.
