Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation Announces Marohn as Chair of IICF Board of Governors

The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) named Steve Marohn, president, commercial lines at Grange Insurance, as chair of IICF’s board of governors. Adam McDonough, executive vice president of Lockton Insurance Brokers, will join Marohn in leading the IICF board of governors as its first vice chair.
Marohn’s elevation from IICF Board of Governors member to chair follows more than two decades of leadership involvement with the IICF. His leadership includes serving as Board chair of the IICF Western Division, and he also served on IICF’s 30th anniversary and board of governors compensation committees.

McDonough, a current member of the IICF Board of Governors, has been involved with the foundation for 20 years, also serving previously as IICF Western division board chair and chairing every committee within this division throughout his tenure.
Marohn and McDonough succeed Wendy Houser, President, US Wholesale and Specialty at Markel, who served as IICF Board of Governors Chair since January 2024.
AXA XL promotes Matthew Stitham to Chief Underwriting Officer, Casualty in the Americas
AXA XL, headquartered in New York City, promoted Matthew Stitham to chief underwriting officer, casualty, in the Americas.
Stitham assumes the regional underwriting management responsibilities previously held by Donnacha Smyth, who transitioned in November to global chief underwriting officer, casualty, overseeing casualty underwriting operations worldwide. Most recently, Stitham served as head of west excess and head of excess casualty. He joined AXA XL in 2007, after starting his underwriting career at Zurich and Travelers.
