The Texas Workers’ Compensation Commission’s Worker’s Health and Safety division will host a one-day seminar on general industrial safety from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Victorian Condo Hotel & Conference Center, 6300 Seawall Blvd., Galveston, Texas. The cost is $90 per person.
This course includes an introduction to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) general industry standards and an overview of the requirements of some of the more frequently cited standards. The course will cover those hazardous areas in general industry that are known to cause accidents and injury in the workplace.
The following OSHA standards will be covered in this seminar:
Subpart D – Walking and Working Surfaces;
Subpart E – Means of Egress;
Subpart J – Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout);
Subpart J – Permit Required Confined Spaces;
Subpart L – Fire Protection;
Subpart O – Machine Guarding; and
CFR 1910.1200 – Hazard Communication.
