Nationwide Flood Research Launches Marketing Service for Agents

September 25, 2002

Dallas-based NationWide Flood Research Inc. (NFRI) announced it has launched AtRisk, a three-step marketing service that helps insurance professionals locate potential customers and cross-sell flood policies to existing customers.

Step 1 helps insurance agents identify customers who possibly carry flood insurance with another carrier or are candidates for preferred risk coverage. NFRI does this by executing a privacy agreement and then analyzing an insurance agent’s customer database to determine which customers are located in or near special flood hazard areas. A targeted list is then generated which can easily be mail-merged for direct mailings or imported into contact management software. Using NFRI’s TruRiskSM service, agents can also provide these high-risk customers with maps that depict their property’s proximity to flood hazard areas.

Step 2 uses NFRI’s demographics-based clustering technology to profile customers and identify the types of people most likely to do business with a particular agent. The resulting market analysis provides customer templates, which can be used to prioritize marketing efforts.

Step 3 combines the templates developed in Step 2 with specific zip codes agents would like to target. The resulting list contains potential customers in or near special flood hazard areas that are hot prospects for flood or any other type of coverage offered. NFRI then works with agents to leverage these lists in direct mail campaigns utilizing materials developed with the agent.

AtRisk pricing starts at $.25 per lead generated by NFRI.
