Texas Speaker of the House, Pete Laney, appointed State Representative Scott Hochberg, Houston, chair of the Board of Directors of the Research and Oversight Council on Workers’ Compensation (ROC). Senator John Corona, Dallas, was named vice-chair of the ROC by Lt. Governor Bill Ratliff.
Hochberg, who is serving his fifth term as a state representative, replaces outgoing chair, Sen. Troy Fraser, Horseshoe Bay. Corona has served in the Texas Senate since 1996 and began his legislative service in the Texas House of Representatives in 1990. He replaces Rep. Kim Brimer, Fort Worth, as vice-chair.
The ROC is a Texas state agency that conducts research on workers’ compensation issues; monitors the agencies and entities involved in the workers’ compensation system; and develops policy recommendations regarding regulatory and/or legislative changes.
