Giddings Appointed Chair of ROC

Texas Speaker of the House Tom Craddick named State Representative Helen Giddings chair of the Board of Directors of the Research and Oversight Committee on Workers’ Compensation (ROC). Giddings replaces outgoing chair Scott Hochberg.

Representatives Lois W. Kolhurst and Gary Elkins were also appointed to the ROC Board. All of the appointments are effective immediately.

Giddings, who represents parts of Dallas County, serves as the chair of the House Business and Industry Committee, and is a member of both the House Education and House Administration Committees.

Elkins, a native of Houston, serves as vice-chair of the Business and Industry Committee and is a member of the Administration and State Affairs Committees. Kolhurst represents parts of Austin, Grimes, Walker and Washington counties. She serves on the Business and Industry, Appropriations, and Local & Consent Calendars Committees.
