Claudette, now classified by the National Hurricane Center as a tropical depression, has killed at least two people in Texas, according to the Associated Press.
It also left several mid-coast communities without power. The two who died were felled by tree or tree limbs.
At its height, Claudette’s winds reached speeds of 85 mph, peeling off roofs in affected areas. As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, Claudette was centered about 65 miles Southeast of Marfa, Texas, and moving Northwestward at about 20 mph.
No insurers have yet released loss estimates.
