The Texas Department of Insurance will hold hearings on property/casualty insurance matters—Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) rates and new “file and use” regulations—on Sept. 8 and 9, 2004.
On Sept. 8, the hearing concerns Docket No. 2594: Consideration of the approval of proposed manual rates for all types and classes of risks written by the Texas and submitted by TWIA pursuant to Article 21.49 §8(h)(2). (Reference No. P-0804-12 and P-0804-13)/
At the Sept. 9 hearing, the Commissioner will consider Docket No. 2596: The Texas Department of Insurance (Department) and the Office of Public Insurance Council (OPIC) will conduct an open meeting which will provide consumers and insurers the opportunity to share information and provide input and comments regarding the Department’s proposed implementation of Property and Casualty filing requirements in Texas, including “file and use” rate regulation.
The Department has drafted and submitted for informal comments, 28 TAC §§5.9310-5.9357, which is available on the Department’s website at www.tdi.state.tx.us/company/pcifrul2.html or may be obtained by contacting David Nardecchia at (512) 305-7544.
Both hearings will begin at 9: 30 a.m. at TDI headquarters: Hobby Building, 333 Guadalupe, Austin, Hearing Room 100.
