Grant to Lead Cross-Sell Project for Guaranty

November 1, 2004

Austin, Texas-based Guaranty Insurance Services Inc., announced that Nick Grant, its executive vice president, will head up cross-sell efforts between the agency and the other members of the Guaranty Financial Services family, including Guaranty Bank and parent-company, Temple-Inland.

“This position is critical to our strategy going forward,” said Hal Shults, president of Guaranty Insurance Services. “Two years ago, an internal task force got together and explored and identified a significant financial opportunity joining forces between our insurance, banking, corrugated packaging and lumber channels inside Temple-Inland. As a company, we decided it made sense to work together to better serve our customers needs.”

Guaranty Insurance Services operates offices in seven Texas cities and in the greater Los Angeles area. Its core business includes retail property and casualty insurance, risk management, annuity brokerage and life and health insurance.

Guaranty Insurance Services is member of the Guaranty Financial Services family of companies, which includes Guaranty Bank. Guaranty Bank operates a network of banking centers throughout Texas and California. Guaranty Financial Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of Temple-Inland Inc., a Fortune 500 company with interest in packaging and building products, as well as financial services.
