Texas Mutual Insurance Company announced that Charles Whiteside Ph.D. will serve as the 2005 vice chair and Judy Broussard will serve as the secretary on the Texas Mutual board of directors.
Dr. Whiteside is the president and general manager of Ana-Lab Corp, in Kilgore. Gov. George W. Bush appointed him to the company’s board of directors in December 1996.
Broussard is the public relations officer for Sundown State Bank in Levelland. Gov. Rick Perry appointed her to the board in October 2001.
After House Bill 3458 revised the company’s charter in 2001, four of its nine-member board stood for election by policyholders. On June 27, 2002, over 5,000 policyholders voted—either in person or by proxy—to elect Whiteside and Broussard (along with Jose Cuevas Jr. and James D. Ross) to the board.
“Ms. Broussard and Dr. Whiteside have been great assets to the company and to the people of Texas,” said Texas Mutual President Russ Oliver. “They are successful Texas businesspeople who understand the value of a strong workers’ compensation system and our role in the system. I look forward to continuing to serve with them.”
