Southwestern Insurance Information Service announced it will host a Public Policy Forum featuring Albert Betts, Jr., commissioner of the Division of Workers’ Compensation at the Texas Department of Insurance. This event will be held on Sept. 23, 2005, at an 11:30 a.m. luncheon at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Addison, Texas.
Gov. Rick Perry recently appointed Betts to lead the Division as it implements reforms created by Texas House Bill 7.
Betts previously served as chief of staff and senior associate commissioner of operations at the Texas Department of Insurance. Prior to that, Betts was general counsel for the State Office of Risk Management.
