North Texas-based Southern Insurance Group (SIG) announced that Fred Wilkinson joined SIG as their new vice president of Marketing. Wilkinson will be working closely with Jennifer Duncan, vice president and general manager for Southern Insurance Group.
Wilkinson’s primary duty will be to identify and appoint growing independent agents in the DFW area that are looking to expand their agencies by joining SIG. SIG is a “Master Agency” for the Strategic Independent Agents Alliance (SIAA), a group of over 2000 independent agents nationwide, that generates an excess of $4 billion in premium.
Previously, Wilkinson served as president of Universal Insurance Exchange and vice president of Kemper Insurance Companies in Dallas.
Wilkinson brings to his new position over 25 years of experience within the insurance industry, including a background in marketing, claims, underwriting, loss control, accounting and human resources.
Wilkinson’s professional accomplishments include serving on the Board of Directors for the Texas Insurance Organization (TIO), Southwestern Insurance Information Services (SIIS), The National Automation Steering Committee for Kemper Insurance Companies and the Executive Board of the Texas Workers’ Compensation Association.
