The Texas Department of Insurance will hold a public hearing on Jan. 29 to consider proposals by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association that concern both residential and commercial properties.
TWIA is requesting approval of a new endorsement for its dwelling policy to cover loss of rental income, manual rules for the new endorsement, and rates for the proposed new coverage. The proposed dwelling policy endorsement will be heard under Docket No. 2680.
In addition, TWIA has filed proposed increases to the current maximum limits of liability for commercial and government buildings and the corporeal movable property located in those structures from a maximum limit of $3,390,000 to a new maximum limit of $4,000,000. The proposed increase will be heard under Docket No. 2682.
The Jan. 29 public hearing will be held at 9:30 a.m., in Room 100 of the William P. Hobby, Jr. State Office Building, in Austin, Texas.
