Texas-based Swantner & Gordon Insurance Agency LLP, one of the nation’s largest independently owned agencies, announced that Howard Cantwell joined the company as Bond Department manager effective Feb.1, 2008.
Cantwell has 35 years of experience in the bond industry. He will be responsible for managing and supervising all Swantner & Gordon bond accounts and will work with the company’s producers to promote the best service in the industry, the company said.
Cantwell began his bond career in 1973 with Continental Insurance’s Regional Surety office in Dallas. He subsequently was promoted to manager of its New Orleans office. He also served in various management positions at CNA before being promoted in 2003 to assistant vice president with responsibility for ten offices – covering the entire southeast region of the USA. Cantwell retired from CNA after seventeen years of service at the end of 2007.
