Amerisafe Inc., a DeRidder, La.-based specialty writer of high hazard workers’ compensation insurance, has appointed Brendan Gau as executive vice president and chief investment officer. Gau’s appointment is effective June 23.
Prior to joining Amerisafe, Gau previously was employed by AIM Capital Management in Houston, Texas, which he joined in 1996 as a financial analyst. He subsequently advanced to portfolio management, ultimately becoming senior portfolio manager for 13 investment portfolios comprised of assets exceeding $4 billion.
Gau graduated magnum cum laude from Rice University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts, and is a CFA charter holder and member of Phi Beta Kappa.
