An Alabama insurance regulator has turned aside an offer to become head of Louisiana’s property insurer of last resort.
The Louisiana Department of Insurance says Charles Angell has decided to stay in Alabama. He had been recommended by Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon to head Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corp.
Angell is chief actuary and acting deputy commissioner of the Alabama insurance department.
Current Louisiana Citizens CEO John Wortman recently announced plans to retire.
