Houston, Texas-based regional insurance carrier, Columbia Lloyds Insurance Co., has named Milby D. Dunn II as chairman of the board of Underwriters and appointed Jeffrey Mann as president and CEO.
Each has extensive insurance industry experience for a combined 34 years, with 13 of these in senior management roles.
Milby Dunn was named chairman to lead the company started by his father M. Dow Dunn in 1985 and continue the family’s commitment to provide an insurance market to owners of low value homes in Harris county while others are pulling out following the losses of Hurricane Ike. The company has paid nearly $100 million in claims since Hurricane Ike in 2008.
Mann joined Columbia Lloyds in 2009 as controller. Prior to joining Columbia Lloyds he held various industry positions and most recently served as controller for American Farmers and Ranchers Mutual Insurance Co., the second largest farm insurer in Oklahoma.
He is a CPA with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Masters in Business Administration from the Cox School of Business, Southern Methodist University.
Former Columbia Lloyds President Bob Sullivan will remain on the board and continue to serve the company as vice president of Marketing.
