Watkins Insurance Group in Austin, Texas, has established a donation drop-off site to help victims of the Central Texas fires.
Located at 3834 Spicewood Springs Road, items are being collected in the agency’s lobby Sept. 6 through Sept. 9 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Watkins Insurance Group is asking for donations of water, clothing, toiletries and stuffed animals. They will also collect checks made to ‘American Red Cross of Central Texas.’
Organizing the donation site is Emily Eakin of Watkins Insurance Group.
‘So far we are really relying on word-of-mouth and social networking to get out the message that a northwest Austin site is available to take donations,’ Eakin said. ‘Any assistance spreading that message is greatly appreciated.’
She encourages ‘Liking’ the Facebook page created, ‘Central Texas Fire Relief Donation Site.’
