Centauri Insurance, a homeowners insurance carrier based in Sarasota, Fla., is now providing homeowners insurance coverage in Louisiana.
Centauri Insurance also expects to add more products, including renters and dwelling fire insurance in Louisiana. Additional expansion into other states is expected later this year.
The company is a multi-line homeowners insurance carrier that resulted from a strategic expansion and spin-off from Universal North America, another Florida-based carrier that operates in multiple states, including those with significant coastal exposure.
Company principals, Espino and Lora Rees, executive vice president and COO, are industry veterans with a track record of creating and operating successful insurance ventures. In 2004, the two launched the U.S. operations of Universal North America, which grew from a one-state, single-line insurance carrier to a multi-line company with operations in 17 states in only six years.
Centauri Insurance has a Financial Stability Rating of A Exceptional from Demotech, an independent financial analysis firm serving the insurance industry.
In Louisiana, Centauri Insurance also will provide home equipment breakdown protection, which covers mechanical breakdown for items such as air conditioning systems, telephone and security systems and swimming pool equipment.
