Agents who place insurance with Texas’ property insurer of last resort in coastal areas apparently have been having difficulty faxing policy changes to the company. The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association says the fax connection provider is to blame.
TWIA said that many Comcast users have complained that their faxes are not coming through to the insurer.
Speaking at a TWIA board meeting in Galveston on Aug. 7, one agent said her agency had been trying unsuccessfully to get faxes through to the company for days.
The association said in a message to agents that it has been working with Comcast to resolve fax connectivity issues for their customers.
TWIA recommended that until the fax issue is fixed on the provider’s end, agents are encouraged to email y policy changes to policychanges@twia.org or send in the changes by U.S. mail.
