The Gibraltar Group, a risk and insurance advisory firm based in Lubbock, Texas, announced it has appointed Dr. Bruce Baker as vice president of Information Security, and expanded its risk and loss management RiskIMPACT process to include NetworkGUARD.
Cybercrime accounts for over $114 billion annually worldwide, the company noted in its announcement. The increasing complexity and impact of technology risk has businesses in need of additional resources and insight to help protect their companies, employees, and customers from cybercrimes.
Dr. Bruce Baker has significant professional and personal experience in information security. In 1998, he cofounded CleanZone, a provider of Internet security consulting services. He has also served as an adjunct professor of computer science at Brazosport College. Dr. Baker will be assisting clients with information security audits and other areas of cyber risk.
NetworkGUARD, is an assessment driven service, developed with the purpose of helping business owners understand and secure risks both inside and outside of their company’s network by systematically identifying points of vulnerability.
