Houston International Insurance Group (HIIG) announced that Joseph Kem has been named senior vice president of its underwriting division, HIIG Energy, responsible for oil and gas operations based in the Dallas office.
Kem has been in the insurance industry for more than 25 years and joins HIIG from Bituminous Insurance Cos., where he has served as branch manager of the Oklahoma City office since 1999.
HIIG Energy division will headquarter its Oil & Gas business in Dallas with a branch in Houston.
HIIG Energy also writes mining business from its office in Birmingham, Ala.
