How sad that our country has come to such a state that monitors are seen as a necessity. It would seem that we are moving toward a devaluation of life in general.
I agree — this is sad. I hope that if it passes, that there is a provision that if the resident refuses the monitor that it can’t be placed in the room. It would then be a dignity issue.
There are video cameras in grocery stores, on roads, at ATMs and other places so are you kidding me that someone would be against installing a camera inside a group home for elderly and disabled who can’t speak up for themselves? What idiot would be against protecting elderly and disabled from secret abuse that happens all the darn time in this country. It would only be someone who is afraid of the liability, which makes you wonder, gee, maybe they know this is a silent epidemic and are scared video monitoring will expose it.
