State insurance officials are planning an event to help central Oklahoma residents who are still dealing with insurance issues involving May’s severe storms and tornadoes.
The Oklahoma Insurance Department will host the Recovery Roundup on Aug. 17 at Southmoore High School.
Insurance officials will meet with storm survivors still experiencing insurance issues. Representatives from all the major insurance companies have been invited to answer questions and address any unresolved claims. Officials from the cities of Moore and Oklahoma City will also be available.
Oklahomans have filed nearly 88,000 claims since the first tornado struck on May 19th, totaling more than $945 million in insurance payments. But insurance officials say it’s not uncommon for consumers to still be dealing with unresolved insurance claims three to four months after a large-scale disaster.
