The Texas Department of Insurance will hold a hearing on Oct. 30 to consider a petition by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association to raise the maximum limits of liability for windstorm and hail insurance policies covering residential dwellings and individually-owned townhouses, and associated contents; contents of apartments, condominiums or townhouses; commercial structures and associated contents; and governmental structures and associated contents.
The petition does not affect the association’s rates.
TWIA’s board is requesting the following adjustments to liability limits for commercial and residential properties:
