Excess and surplus insurance broker and managing general agent, SSA Insurance Services, has added Madelyn Cohen to its executive team in Louisiana.
Cohen’s responsibilities at SSA will include acquiring and developing new markets, commercial and personal line placements, recruiting new producer relationships, underwriting and training.
Cohen has more than 30 years of experience in commercial, personal and specialty underwriting. Most recently, Cohen was employed by Interstate Insurance Underwriters in Mandeville, La., as branch underwriting manager.
Cohen worked at IB&M (Insurance Brokers and Managers) from 1977 until 2003 when IB&M’s parent, Lafayette Insurance Co., was sold to Hull & Co. She then served Hull & Co. as vice president and branch manager. After Hull & Company acquired Brown and Brown, Cohen held the positions of profit center leader and sales broker/underwriter at Brown and Brown.
Cohen holds the CPCU and CPIW professional designations.
