Was a client of State Farm from 1986 to 2008, they had my businesses, my autos, my home, amazingly after two phone calls they have no record of me even though they still cover my businesses. Gave them my policy # told them I had moved and they agreed when they send out my refund it will go to the old address and I’ll never see it. Amazing how helpful they can take me off the grid, guess I’ll let them cover my privacy issues with the world wide web too.
With my policy number, DOB, telephone number they state I do not exist. Yes my good old agent retired two years ago and new agent states they have no record of me either but they still get a monthly premium for my businesses, a new kind of stupid has evolved.
Wow Conrad. I have never run into a business covered by State Farm. I have seen them write Auto policies on a Personal Auto covering business vehicles and misclassified them on purpose to get a pleasure use only rate. Of course, it didn’t cover the business name. The agent wrote 6 personal auto policies for 6 vehicles so he got policy count. About the only businesses I have seen written were apartment houses, which they seemed to like at the time.
I had state farm insurance during the years mentioned in the claim and am curious how to go about contacting anyone who can help me and let me know if I am eligible for any monies from any lawsuits of the company.
allen, you might start with the Texas Dept of Insurance Complaints Division. TDI had a long running battle with State Farm about all these overcharges and State Farm defied them and the courts for many years. The complaints division will ask you to fill out some forms, list your policy numbers, effective dates etc and the nature of your complaint. They will do the inquiry and the company will have to answer it.
Like a bad neighbor, State Farm is there.
