The Texas Surplus Lines Association has selected the law firm of Beatty, Bangle & Strama to replace longtime TSLA attorney Greg Hooser, who has retired. Keith Strama will be the lead attorney from his firm for TSLA.
Strama has significant experience representing various groups before the Texas Legislature and once served as a legislative aide to former state Rep. Craig Eiland. He has been a shareholder in Beatty, Bangle & Strama since 2006.
Eleven firms submitted proposals and six were chosen to be interviewed.

TSLA said the decision was difficult but its hiring committee believed Beatty, Bangle & Strama, a mid-size firm, was the best fit for TSLA going forward for the long term.
TSLA thanked the following members of the TSLA Hiring Committee for their hard work on this important decision: Lorrie Cheshier, McClelland & Hine Inc.; Chairperson Penny Restrepo, Delta General Agency Corp.; Shawn Fabors, AmWINS Program Access; Teri Brinson, M.D. Jensvold & Co. Inc.; and Garrett Sprowls, PLUS Inc.
TSLA looks forward to working with Strama and his team on the issues affecting TSLA for many years.
