The State Legislature has had the bill to ban texting while driving in the past two sessions and failed to act. It is up to the individual cities to pass their own ordinances. The IIAT has failed big time as agents representatives in the Legislature. For that reason, I will not support Impact anymore.

It is very possible that distracted driving is repsonsible for a marked increase in non injury or light injury accidents across the state. Instead of doing something about that problem, the TX DOT is lowering speed limits along significant stretches of roadway. Since lower speed limits do not change the flow of traffic, it will reduce compliance and public acceptance of traffic laws.

Really Henry? Where are these significant stretches of road where the speed limit has been lowered? This article is about distracted driving. When do drivers comply with the speed limit in this state. Whatever is posted they exceed by about 10 MPH and then do their distracted driving routine.
