Texas Windstorm Insurer Seeks Input for Actuarial & Underwriting Committee

Texas insurer of last resort for properties along the state’s coast is seeking input from the public in advance of a meeting of its Actuarial & Underwriting Committee.

The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association’s (TWIA’s) Actuarial & Underwriting Committee will meet Thursday, October 17 at 1:30 pm for review and possible action regarding development of recommendations to its board of directors concerning rate filings as permitted by law, rate adequacy issues and strategies.

The association’s rate adequacy analysis was originally posted in July.

Members of the public may submit comments about items to be considered by the Actuarial & Underwriting Committee prior to the meeting by emailing PublicComment@twia.org. Comments received by noon on Monday, Oct. 14 will be shared with members of the committee and the TWIA board.

Comments submitted to TWIA are subject to the Texas Public Information Act. TWIA may post public comments received, with personally identifiable information redacted, to its website.

All meetings of the TWIA Board of Directors and its committees are open to the public. Members of the public may attend the meeting in person at TWIA’s offices in Austin. A quorum of the TWIA board may attend this committee meeting.
