The Louisiana Department of Insurance says a new emergency rule extends the renewal dates for licenses of insurance producers and adjusters who have been negatively impacted by the business closures brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Emergency Rule 44 applies to insurance producers and adjuster licensees with an expiration date of April 30, 2020. The renewal date has been extended until May 12, 2020.
The new rule was issued as a result of Gov. John Bel Edwards’ March 22 Proclamation No. 33 JBE 2020, which declared a stay at home order and closure of nonessential businesses, and the related commercial and economic impacts of Covid-19.
