SageSure, SURE to Add Coverage Options for Coastal Property in Texas

SageSure, a managing general underwriter and insurtech specializing in catastrophe-prone property markets, and SureChoice Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange (SURE), have partnered to expand insurance capacity for homeowners in coastal Texas.

SURE is a new reciprocal exchange rated A, Exceptional, by Demotech Inc. It is the first new reciprocal exchange in Texas since 2004, the companies said. SURE coverage will be distributed exclusively by SageSure’s growing network of agents and brokers.

SURE specializes in property insurance options in catastrophe-prone areas.

Along with Ed Konar, president and secretary of SURE, who has more than 40 years of insurance experience, most recently serving as president and CEO of Independent Mutual Fire Insurance Co., SURE is managed by a team of experienced and successful insurance industry veterans through its attorney-in-fact. They include:

  • Ed Schultz, director of finance and treasurer, who brings over more than 40 years of accounting and audit experience, including various senior leadership roles at Kemper.
  • Scott Sauls, director of claims and underwriting, who brings more than 22 years of experience in claims and underwriting, including most recently chief underwriting officer at Independent Mutual Fire Insurance Co.

SageSure delivers property insurance options to agents and brokers who serve catastrophe-prone areas. SageSure has nine offices across the country, including Jersey City, Atlanta, Chicago, Tallahassee and Cincinnati.
