Louisiana Insurance Commissioner-Elect Tim Temple has announced the formation of an Insurance Advisory Council that will identify legislative recommendations for upcoming legislative sessions, including a special session to address the state’s insurance crisis.
Temple said the council will focus on five core categories. The council chairs for each category are:
- Property insurance: Jimmy Ordeneaux, partner at Plauché Maselli Parkerson LLP
- Automobile insurance: Randy Guillot, the president of trucking company Triple G Express
- Life and health insurance: Derek Babcock, president of Insurance and Financial Services, Inc. and Allied Benefit Solutions
- Residual market and safety nets: Mike Adams, partner at Decuir, Clark & Adams
- Future of the Louisiana marketplace: Noel Bunol, executive vice president of Gulf State Insurance
Temple, a Baton Rouge Republican, ran unopposed for Louisiana Insurance Commissioner. He will replace outgoing commissioner Jim Donelon, who chose not to run for re-election.
