John Delaney, president of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville has been named to the board of directors of National Grange Mutual Insurance Co. Delaney became the fifth UNF president in 2003. Before becoming UNF president, Delaney served two terms as Jacksonville mayor.
National Grange Mutual is a subsidiary of Main Street America Group, which has corporate offices in Jacksonville and Keene, N.H. The company has more than $790 million in premiums written by more than 1,100 independent insurance agents.
Main Street America offers both personal and commercial auto insurance coverages. It also offers comprehensive homeowners insurance with special programs for older homes and special discounts for safety devices.
“John comes to us with outstanding credentials and track record of accomplishment, leadership and public service to the city of Jacksonville and the state of Florida,” Tom Van Berkel, National Grange president and CEO said. “His wealth of experience will be of tremendous value to the NGM board of directors.”
