Sunshine State Insurance Appoints Rogan, Ervin

John Rogan, a Florida insurance executive with senior management experience in the company and agency sides of the business, has been elected president and CEO of Sunshine State Insurance Company (SSIC), John Lombardo, board chairman, announced.

Lombardo also reported the election of Richard Ervin, Jr. as executive vice president and CFO. Ervin has served as CFO at three insurance companies over the last 18 years. Rogan previously served as vice president Marketing and Commercial Underwriting. Ervin served as vice president and CFO.

Prior to joining Sunshine in 1999, Rogan was vice president of CGU Insurance Company for the State of Florida. He successfully integrated the Florida operations of General Accident and Commercial Union after the two companies merged. Earlier, he was vice president and agency manager of Naughton Insurance Services, Jacksonville, Fla., a multi-line agency writing business across the U.S. He also served as vice president for six years with CIGNA Property and Casualty Companies in Jacksonville.

Ervin also joined Sunshine in 1999. Earlier, he served as senior vice president, CFO, and director of American Surety and Casualty Insurance Company. Prior to joining American Surety, he was vice president, CFO, and director of Old Dominion Insurance Company.
