King’s Bay Licensed for Business in Sunshine State

April 28, 2005

Bruce Howson, president and CEO of Intendant Holding Corporation (“IHC”), announced that the Florida Department of Financial Services has issued a license to operate to IHC’s reinsurance brokerage subsidiary King’s Bay Reinsurance Intermediaries Inc. (KBRe). KBRe and King’s Bay Insurance Services Inc. (KBIS) are the principle operating subsidiaries of IHC.

Philip Cawley, president of KBRe, noted, “We are pleased to announce that the licensing of KBRe is the first major step in the launching of our reinsurance broking operations, which will initially focus on Florida and Georgia. In a short time, we expect to provide reinsurance brokerage services in the Southeast and Southwest regions of the United States.

“We are eager to provide services to existing property casualty companies, as well as start-up situations. With the explosive growth of market opportunities in this geographic region, we believe that our over 30 years’ experience in working with company clients will position us for some positive opportunities. The opportunity to employ the services of an independent reinsurance broker in start-up situations should provide an easy alternative to the established service providers.”

Howson added, “In addition to KBRe, KBIS is positioned to provide management and consulting services to clients that are engaged in start-up situations or the strategic expansion into new opportunities in our target markets. We have over 40 years’ experience in the property casualty business with a focus for the past 10 years in Florida. Expertise includes both personal and commercial lines management experience. KBIS is positioned to provide Managing General Agency (MGA) services in addition to the general management consulting services.”

IHC and its operating subsidiaries are located in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. The phone number is (904) 273-9777. Inquiries should be directed to either Howson or Cawley at that number.
