The West Virginia Insurance Commission has received a new private passenger automobile rate filing from Erie Insurance Property and Casualty Company.
Erie is requesting approval for a 2.4 percent rate decrease for its private passenger automobile insurance customers, beginning with those policies that renew after the new rates take effect Nov. 1.
The requested rate decrease is in addition to the company’s earlier approved rate decrease of 3.1 percent for its private passenger automobile customers due to recent insurance and civil justice reforms passed by the West Virginia Legislature.
