During two public hearings today South Florida homeowners will have a chance to voice their concerns about Citizens Property Insurance Corp.’s rising insurance rates. One hearing began at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning and there will be a second session at 6 p.m. at the Manuel Artime Theater at 900 S.W. First Street.
Citizens, Florida’s insurer of last resort, is requesting a premium increase averaging 44.9 percent across the state.
Sat. Feb. 4 Florida’s CFO Tom Gallagher will host a town hall meeting at 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Hialeah City Hall, 501 Palm Ave., where he will hear concerns and answer questions.
