The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation has scheduled rate hearings in May for three carriers, Hartford Insurance Co. of the Midwest, Florida Peninsula Insurance Company, and United Property and Casualty.
Hartford Insurance has requested 21 percent homeowners policy rate hikes statewide. Hearings to discuss its request will take place May 10, noon to 6 p.m. at the Double Tree Hotel in the Gardens at 4431 PGA Boulevard, Palm Beach Gardens.
Florida Peninsula has requested a 91 percent rate increase, and United Property and Casualty’s has requested a 51.1 percent rate increase. Hearings to discuss Florida Peninsula’s request are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Signature Grand, 6900 State Road 84, Davie, Fla. United Property and Casualty’s hearings are scheduled at the same location at noon and 5 p.m.
According to the Office of Insurance Regulation, the requested rates are not uniform and some areas are subject to higher or lower rate changes.
