Daniel A. Reppert has been appointed senior vice president and chief actuary of Life of the South, a property and casualty provider with headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla. The appointment was announced by Ned Hamil, president and CEO. Reppert will play a major role in developing risk strategies as well as pricing methodologies.
“LOTSolutions, a Life of the South affiliate, has a growing presence in the debt cancellation market, in which advanced actuarial skills are required in product development and pricing,” Hamil explained. “We believe he is uniquely qualified to provide leadership in these critical growth areas.”
Reppert has extensive business experience as well as actuarial credentials. For the past two years he has been chief risk officer for Wachovia Corp. in Charlotte, N.C. From 1987 to 2003, he was employed by Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance in a series of senior management positions.
Life of the South recently increased its presence in the P/C market with the acquisition of Lyndon Southern Insurance Co. as well as the pending transaction to acquire American Guaranty Insurance Co. in North Carolina.
Reppert joins Life of the South’s Jacksonville offices.
