    While I don’t necessarily have anything aginst the question of the whereabouts of OSHA, I do think that is just an attempt to pass the buck to a government agency.

    Businesses and business owners are ultimately responsible for the safety and training of their employees – not the government.

    OSHA is not to blame, neither is the local fire department or anyone besides the line managers that chose poorly, the staff managers that didn’t train and the parent company that let operations slide.

    Leave the government out unless you want more government say so.

    Where was OSHA? There are PSM requirements that have to be met. When was the last time they visited this plant. My bet is that any plant with turnover and failed safeguards enough to result in leveling a building has seen enough injuries to warrant a visit.
