Fla. Insurance Regulator Named Gov.’s Policy Director

November 9, 2007

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist named David Foy to serve as his new policy director. Foy most recently served as the chief of staff for Florida’s Office of Insurance Regulation.

As OIR’s chief of staff, Foy directed the office’s $26 million budget and statewide advocacy efforts. Beginning in 2002, he served as the director of governmental relations at the Florida Department of Education where he developed the department’s legislative agenda and strategy.

From 1996 to 1998, Foy was assistant to the deputy director of the Florida Department of Insurance where he directed special projects and supervised the deputy director’s office.

“David’s 10 years of experience in the public sector with the legislative process and policy development will continue moving us forward to achieve even greater things for the people of Florida,” Crist said.
