California-based NAS Insurance Services and Kentucky Hospital Insurance Company have entered into a new reinsurance arrangement for network security insurance.
The agreement provides for KHIC to cover the insured hospital’s liability for errors in electronic data management. The insurance also covers defense costs in the event of government investigation of the insured’s management of data.
The limits are $100,000 per claim and $300,000 in the aggregate for each of 20 Kentucky and Tennessee hospitals covered in the program. Higher limits are available to individual hospitals.
