Mississippi authorities say two municipalities in Bolivar County are in danger of losing their fire insurance rebate funds from the state.
County Fire Coordinator Joe Phillips says Mound Bayou and Winstonville have not reported fire incident numbers to the national reporting system in 2008.
Phillips said the departments are required to do so to receive state funding that is used “on equipment, trucks, grant-matching and so forth.”
The municipalities stand to miss out on as much as $10,000 each.
