The Florida Municipal Insurance Trust (FMIT) says it has added 20 new cities to its roster of clients and experienced a 96 percent renewal rate among existing customers.
The nonprofit organization provides workers’ compensation, liability, auto, property and health insurance to governmental entities in Florida.
In addition, FMIT said it expanded coverage in several areas to further support the needs of municipalities in Florida.
The Florida Municipal Insurance Trust is sponsored and administered by the Florida League of Cities, and is owned by participating members. Of the 412 towns, cities and villages in the state of Florida, 59 percent hold coverage with the trust.
