Sawgrass Mutual Insurance Co. is now selling residential property insurance coverage to Florida homeowners through independent agents.
The company was launched last month with $10 million in initial capitalization.
CEO James Esse said the company’s mutual structure is a “proven business model that dates back to the formation of this country.”
Sawgrass Mutual insurance will cover homes and structures physically attached to homes; detached structures such as pools, fences and sheds; and personal property including clothes, furniture and appliances and scheduled personal property such as special jewelry and fine arts items.
The company said it will also provide additional coverage options so policyholders can tailor coverage through their agent to meet their individual needs.
Sawgrass Mutual is headquartered in Davie, Florida, and is located online at www.SawgrassMutual.com.
