Strengthening its presence in the Florida property/ casualty market, global professional services company Towers Watson has appointed two industry veterans with experience in the state. Robert Betz has been named practice leader for the company’s Florida P/C insurance services, and Lloyd Stofko has been named a senior broker in its reinsurance brokerage business, also focusing on Florida P/C insurance.
Before joining Towers Watson, Betz and Stofko were with Guy Carpenter & Co., and the former Sellon Associates Inc. which was acquired by Guy Carpenter in 1991.
Betz, a former Guy Carpenter managing director, has 20 years of experience in the Florida market, specifically in the areas of reinsurance broking and consulting for new and existing clients. He was also a member of the company’s Florida operating committee. He has also held senior executive positions with Gerling Global Reinsurance Corp. and Allstate Insurance Co.
Stofko, who was most recently a Guy Carpenter senior vice president, has been focusing on developing new and existing carriers in Florida since 1995. He has also worked for IBM and a private computer consulting firm.
Towers Watson offers services in the areas of employee benefits, talent management, rewards, and risk and capital management.
